L'oreal Caresse in 07 Cheeky Magenta - Review

So after hearing at least 10 reviews on this product and numerous more on this particular colour I thought it looked like the perfect lip product for me.

It's not quite a lipstick with full impact colour, but a balm type lip product which still packs a punch in the colour department.
Cheeky Magenta (07) was the colour that drew my eye after seeing swatches from other blogs and it looked like the perfect bluey pink which I feel suits my skin tone best and I've been lacking on wearing pink recently so thought it would be the best spring/summer colour - if the weather EVER brightens up.

So is all the hype true?
YES!!!

This product is literally amazing, and I can't wait to get more when I get paid at the end of the month.
The consistency of the product is smooth, creamy and nourishing to the lips.
I find it does work as a lip balm but not as well as a product simply for this purpose.

Packaging wise I feel the lipstick looks expensive with packaging that is sturdy and won't pop open in your bag.
The fact the top and bottom also represent the colour inside makes it great to find when in a rush instead of opening all your lipsticks up (which I find myself doing too often, especially with Barry M's).

Swatch of Cheeky Magenta 07 - L'oreal Caresse

The staying power is not as good as your usual lipstick, however this is due to the sheer colour and nourishing purposes, it stays on for around 2 hours before needing a top-up, however if you were eating/drinking you'd probably need to reapply straight afterwards.
In cooler lights the blue tones of the pink really come out to play.

In warmer light it comes across as a bright pink.

Overall I feel this is going to be a firm favourite in my collection and as I said I can't wait to try out more in the range and for £7.99 I think this product is totally worth it, as I know I'll get through it during the warmer days !!

What are your thoughts on the L'oreal Caresse range? What colours are your favourite?

MUA Nectar Shade 16 - Lipstick Review

So today I put this lipstick on, as I've had it a few weeks now but haven't really tried it out.
Today when I glided it on I realised what a gorgeous colour it is, especially for a £1 lipstick so decided it would be great to review it for all of you.

MUA is a bargain beauty brand from Superdrug and most products are priced at just £1, like this lipstick.
I am a fan of their products, although some are really representative of their £1 price tag, others are good in quality and stand up there with lines such as Barry M and Rimmel.

This lipstick is called Nectar and in bullet form it looks like a dark peach colour, however when swatched or put onto the lips it comes out as a sheer orange which feel moisturising and it easily buildable for a more pigmented finish.

Due to the sheerness it has a glossy finish which means you wouldn't need to put lip gloss or balm over the top of the lipstick, though I would ensure that your lips are well moisturised before application as many MUA lipsticks, whether matt or gloss finish tend to cling to any dry patches on your lips.

Overall I think this is a gorgeous summer colour and would look FAB with a tan, thumbs up to MUA for creating another gorgeous lipstick with a small price tag.

Red bottoms and lipsticks (as per)

Hey everyone, so just a couple of updates really with a couple of OOTD's and some new make-up!!

Today, i've been freezing and so I chose to wear my favouritist cardigan.
Also, as you will notice in my outfits I am loving coloured bottoms atm, just jazzes outfits up!
Please excuse my leopard print socks in this outfit, I was actually wearing my docs, but had just taken them off !
  • Cardigan, Marks & Spencers
  • Pacha vest, Ibiza
  • Wine leggings, Missguided.com
  • Necklace, Marc Jacobs
  • Socks, Tesco

Took a trip to superdrug and as a personal fan of cheap make-up I was very excited to see the new MUA lipsticks, and decided to treat myself to a couple.
The colours which I have here are Nectar - Shade 16 and Bare - Shade 14.
MUA lipsticks smell gorgeous and although these two are a bit more glossy than I would prefer they still stay on for quite a while considering they are only £1!!

Me wearing Nectar above (I am wearing it over Barry M 101 - Marshmallow which is why it doesn't look too orange). Love it loads.
Also got a couple of new Rimmel lipsticks as I couldn't resist, these are lasting fix and as seen are gorgeous natural colours which would go with any outfit or make-up look.

Another outfit from the other day !!

  • Black tee, Topshop
  • Red jeans, New Look
  • Studded loafers, eBay
  • Peacock necklace, eBay
  • Ring, Hedkandi
  • Nail Varnish - Mushroom, Barry M
Hope to post again to you soon now I have found my rechargeable batteries!!

U.N.I OOTD and my new favourite make-up products !

Heyy, been ultra busy recently with essays and exams, but now I have plenty of free time to do whatever I wish, so here I am doing a blog post.

Ill start with some fabulous things I have bought recently, in the form of make-up of course !!
I bought the Sleek brow kit I have been after for months and finally got round to buying it, I bought it in the Light #817 and don't think i'll ever go back to just using my Rimmel pencil.
The wax and powder combination means it stays on all day and gives such a clean neat look to my eyebrows, simply in love and at £7.99 who can blame me!
I also looked at the other products from Sleek, seen as they are rather cheap for such good quality items, and this tinted lip conditioner caught my eye. It is called Pout Polish and it contains SPF which is fab, and it comes in the most gorgeous of colours, I was in a toss-up between the Powder Pink, Raspberry Rhapsody and Peach Perfection.
After much umming and aarring I went for the peach and I again am in love, it gives just enough coverage for a slight colour to the lips ! Gorgeous and it's such a big tub for less than £5 I was well impressed.
After looking around all the different make-up sections I decided I wanted to treat myself to a new lipstick (I am a bit lipstick mental at the moment) and was more than happy when I found this lipstick which is my new fave of all time. Bubblegum number 6 of Collection 2000 is my favourite pink lipstick EVER. I don't think I will ever not own it, especially cause it's only £2.99 and stays on for so long, I was so shocked when it stayed on for nearly the whole day of uni I had 10-4 !! This is me trying to show you the colour but I am only using a silly webcam, so I apologise for the crap quality.

In terms of my outfit today I was wearing;
  • Red checkered shirt, Topshop
  • Black leggings, New Look
  • Skull scarf, Primark
  • Denim jacket with fur lining, Topshop
  • Peace bracelet, Topshop
  • Jesus bracelet, Ibiza
  • String beaded bracelet, from my daddy from Hong Kong
  • Skull ring, Primark
  • Red studded diamond earrings, Avon
  • Curved gold earstud, eBay

As you can see I tossed my hair up into a topknot because I had to get ready in 20mins this morning, which was crazy I actually managed it, and in case you were wondering my nail varnish is Barry M in Blue Moon, gorgeous gorgeous colour !!

Hope you have a lovely day chickens xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

NEW YEAR NAILS!

For new year, it's gotta be all about the glitz & glam, cause you gotta start the new year with a bang (of sparkles that is!).

These are the nails that I have chosen to take me into the new year, and I love them!!

If you want to create these yourself, it's so simple!!
All it takes is 2 steps !!

1. Paint your nails with a navy blue polish, I used Barry M, Navy, £2.95.
2. Take a silver glitter polish and put over the top twice, or until happy with the amount of sparkles, I used Models Own, Silver Fox, £6.~

TA DAAA!!
You are ready for 2012!

Happy New Year everyone!
